Krista Riveron was installed as the new FSHP President for the 2026-27 term on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at the FSHP 60th Annual Meeting.
Dear FSHP Members,
It is an honor to begin my term as President of the Florida Society of Health-System Pharmacists. As I assume this role, I am grateful for your trust and mindful of the responsibility of leading an organization that has served Florida’s pharmacy professionals for decades.
FSHP has played an important role in my professional journey, providing opportunities to learn, lead, advocate, build relationships, and advance pharmacy practice. I want every pharmacist, pharmacy technician, resident, student, and new practitioner in Florida to experience that same connection and opportunity.
My vision is for FSHP to remain the professional home and unified voice of Florida’s health-system pharmacy community while responding to the changing needs of our members, patients, and healthcare system.
The future of pharmacy is not something that should simply happen to us. It is something we must help shape.
During my term, I will focus on four priorities: leadership development, relevant education, advocacy, and responsible innovation.
We must create meaningful pathways for members at every career stage to become involved and lead. Leadership begins when someone identifies a need, accepts responsibility, and works with others to create change. FSHP should help members recognize those opportunities and prepare to act.
We must also strengthen the role of pharmacy technicians. Advancing our profession requires expanded career pathways, professional development, recognition, and leadership opportunities for the entire pharmacy workforce.
Education must remain one of FSHP’s greatest strengths, but it must also be timely, practical, and relevant. Our members need resources that prepare them for emerging therapies, medication safety challenges, regulatory changes, workforce pressures, evolving models of care, and new technologies.
Advocacy will remain central to our work. We must advance policies that allow pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to contribute fully to patient care. This includes expanding practice opportunities, supporting recognition of pharmacists as healthcare providers, improving medication access, and ensuring that pharmacy professionals have a meaningful voice in decisions affecting the medication-use system.
We must also lead the responsible integration of artificial intelligence, automation, advanced analytics, and other emerging technologies. These tools offer tremendous potential, but innovation without safety is not progress. Pharmacy professionals must ensure that technology supports clinical judgment, equitable care, medication safety, and human connection.
These goals cannot be achieved by one person or one Board. FSHP’s greatest strength is the knowledge, experience, and commitment of its members.
I invite each of you to take one step forward this year. Mentor a student or colleague. Share an innovative practice. Participate in advocacy. Join a council or committee. Become active in your regional society.
Together, we can strengthen FSHP, advance our profession, and create a safer and more effective medication-use system for every patient we serve.
