Early Career
Glenn Wysock began his practice of pharmacy in 1980. He started working in community pharmacy and moved to a hospital role after a couple of years.
Mentor
From 1988 to 2024, Glenn worked at Winter Haven Hospital (now Baycare). He credits much of his professional success to a mentor, Jerry Hood, who was a clinical pharmacy specialist and then Director of Pharmacy. Jerry gave Glenn a book on pharmacokinetics, helping him learn as they pioneered decentralized pharmacists roles within their institution.
Clinical Pharmacy
Glenn was an early practitioner of clinical pharmacy at a time when it was not common. This foundation helped him develop skills by working with physicians and nurses which he later used as an official leader.
Director of Pharmacy
He became the Director of Pharmacy at Winter Haven in 2000. During his time as Director he brought in automated dispensing, changed operating systems, and started a PGY1 residency that grew from two residents to five (including ambulatory care).
Appreciation
Glenn's favorite part of FSHP is the Directors Workshop because of the sharing of ideas and updates on legal items.
Glenn looks back with appreciation to the key people he worked with on his teams like his Clinical Coordinator and other amazing team members within his department.
